The Wave

SLA’s project ”The Wave” creates shelter and new spaces for the public swimming pool and adds a new strong green-blue connection between city, public swimming pool and the nearby lake. A new path runs through the eventful landscape where a new vegetation and trees enhance both biodiversity and the level of experiences.  Lush herbe covers the roof and enhances bird- and animal life while strengthening the experience of nature inside and outside the public swimming pool. The project also provides the public swimming pool with a new plaza with a strong character and identity. Its flexible character provides opportunities for both big and small, public and private gatherings, informal meetings and a vibrant city life.

The project creates an entirely new green-blue connection through Linköping. Tinnerbäcken that runs from Southern Linköping is reestablished and becomes a recreational blue path passing the new public swimming pool continuing and ending in Stångån, the most beautiful waterway.
